Youth Ensemble’s play is about Baker Wetlands
The Lawrence Youth Ensemble will perform a play titled “Discovering the Wetlands,” about the Baker Wetlands this weekend, as well as July 23 and July 24.
The play, performed and written by area teenagers, is a collaboration among several community agencies, including UnMask.Unearth, the Percolator, and the Douglas County Juvenile Detention Center.
The play will coincide with an art show featuring pieces about the wetlands. That show opens at 6 p.m. July 23 at the Percolator, near the corner of Ninth and New Hampshire streets, in the alley behind the Lawrence Arts Center.
The play is free and open to the public. The schedule is as follows:
• July 16 and July 17, 7 p.m. in South Park.
• July 23 and July 24, 7 p.m. at the Percolator.
