Good impression

To the editor:

I want to pass along an experience I had last year with one of the Kansas candidates for U.S. Senate. I was visiting Washington, D.C., in April 2009 for a pharmacy legislative conference and happened to stop in unannounced to Rep. Jerry Moran’s office. He had sponsored a bill that was beneficial to protecting community pharmacies and I wanted to personally thank him. He was at the Capitol at the time and his chief of staff took my name and number.

The following evening after I returned to Lawrence, Rep. Moran called and thanked me for stopping by. I was impressed that the representative from Western Kansas would take the time to call another Kansan who lived outside his district.

The following morning I was at my pharmacy and surprised when the door opened and Rep. Moran walked in to introduce himself! He was driving to Hays through Lawrence from KCI and made the effort to find my pharmacy and stop in to say hello. With all the negative press lately about our government, I am very impressed with my Kansas delegates!
