GOP plan?
To the editor:
Republicans are salivating. They’ve just won in the bluest state in the nation. The media reports Scott Brown rode a wave of anger to victory. Republicans are good at inflaming the public for political advantage. They’ve had lots of practice. Willie Horton, abortion, gay marriage, immigration. The list goes on.
Remember the phrase, “If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem”? It’s time for Republicans to become part of the solution. It’s easy to criticize; it’s a little harder to offer solutions.
If you didn’t like the Democrats’ bill, introduce your own. Present the Republican plan to achieve universal coverage. Every other industrialized nation has it but us. Millions of Americans have no health insurance, and thousands die each year because of it. This is unacceptable!
Or are Republicans more concerned about protecting insurance company profits than people’s health?
