KU museum to start Science on Tap series
An upcoming series of events in Lawrence will bring together beer and science in the hopes of stimulating community discussion.
The Kansas University Natural History Museum is launching Science on Tap, a yearlong, monthly series of science and technology conversations hosted by Free State Brewery, 636 Mass.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for each event, and the moderator will begin at 7:30 each evening.
The first three events will focus on hydroelectric power, trilobites and solar power.
The first event is scheduled for Tuesday, and is hosted by Sarah Hill-Nelson, owner-operator of Bowersock Mills and Power Co.
On Feb. 16, Bruce Lieberman, curator of invertebrate paleontology at the Biodiversity Institute, will discuss trilobites and extinction; and on March 23, Alice Bean, professor of physics and astronomy, will discuss solar power.
