Community theater needs set builders

The Lawrence Community Theatre, 15th and New Hampshire streets, is currently looking for individuals interested in helping with set construction and painting. Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. If interested in volunteering, contact the theater at 843-7469.

Immediate needs

• Lawrence Memorial Hospital has multiple volunteer positions available for energetic and customer service-oriented people who want to be part of the team of health care providers. If you are interested in lending a helpful hand to patients, visitors, fellow volunteers and staff members, inquire at the LMH Volunteer Office at 325 Maine from 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Prospective volunteers may also call 505-3141 or send e-mail to Allyson.Leland@LMH.org.

• The Roger Hill Volunteer Center is now collecting prom dresses, or any formal dress appropriate for a dance, for its second annual prom dress drive. Donations may be brought to the United Way building at 2518 Ridge Court until March 3. • Douglas County Senior Services needs committed volunteers to shovel snow. Volunteers will be matched with a senior resident, and will need to commit to shoveling that person’s driveway and sidewalk through March as necessary. For more information or to sign up to help, call Matthew at 842-0543.
