Kansans can help shape health policies by filling out survey

How? Fill out the Healthy Kansans 2020 Public Opinion Survey. It only takes 10 minutes.

For example, it asks:

Which of the following lifestyle behaviors should Kansas leaders give top priority?

• Lack of exercise.

• Lack of proper nutrition.

• Tobacco use.

• Alcohol use.

• Illegal drug use.

• Lack of child car seat, booster seat, and/or seat belt use.

• Lack of motorcycle and/or bicycle helmet use.

• Don’t know.

For another example, participate in the new poll on our interim health site.

The survey is coordinated by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment through a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Kansas is one of only 12 states funded for the project.

“This is a unique opportunity to register your opinion of the leading health problems in Kansas. Results of the survey will help decision makers at the state and local level to recognize the health problems considered highest priority by the general public.”

— Paula Clayton, director of the Bureau of Health Promotion at KDHE.

So far, 1,300 people have filled out the survey. It will be available until the end of February.
