Topeka ? State Rep. Rob Olson, R-Olathe, will file legislation to regulate chemicals used in an herbal mixture known as K2, which law enforcement officials have said can produce a marijuana-like high.

Olson and members of law enforcement plan a news conference Monday, the first day of the 2010 legislative session.

“The two chemicals named JWH-018 and JWH-073 are similar to tetrahydrocannadbinol or THC, which is the chemical in marijuana that gives a user his high,” according to Olson’s news release.

K2 has been for sale in Lawrence, and the Olathe school district has reported dealing with a couple of cases of students having the herbal mixture, which is sold as incense.
