Platte City, Mo. ? One bad quarter was enough to doom Free State High’s girls basketball team.

Outscored by 10 in the second quarter, the Firebirds played basically even the rest of the way in a 68-57 loss to Platte County (Mo.) on Tuesday.

Lynn Robinson led the Firebirds with 24 points, and Chantay Caron added 13.

Free State fell to 4-2, while Platte County improved to 9-1.
