Former day care owner guilty of DUI
Wichita ? A former Wichita day care owner accused of driving drunk with children in her vehicle has pleaded no contest.
A municipal judge found 49-year-old Margaret Self guilty following her pleas Thursday to driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license and not having a child in a safety restraint.
Self was arrested in October when staff members at her day care center called police suspecting she was intoxicated when she drove away with several children on a field trip.
The day care, Creative Connections Learning Center, has been closed since the arrest.
Sentencing is scheduled for March 23.
