Praise for nurses

To the editor:

“I love nurses.” I wrote that letter to you, and it was printed in 2001 after my mom passed away at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. The nurses cried with us, gave us hugs and kept our hopes up. We loved you for that!

I still love nurses. It takes a special kind of person to be a nurse. My sister, Cindy, and I were reminded of that during my father’s recent visit to LMH for surgery.

To the wonderful, loving and caring nurses who took care of our father: You are the best! (Your bosses, take note!) Everyone who worked there was helpful and kind. You helped restore my faith in the goodness of people.

Everyone we met at LMH was cheerful, helpful and kind. They all kept us informed. The same can be said about the doctors. Thank you for treating us as intelligent people who love very much their patient, our father.
