FSHS girls edged by Vikes

February 16, 2010

— Chantay Caron’s 12 points weren’t enough for the Free State High girls basketball team on Monday, as it lost to Shawnee Mission West, 46-41.

Ashli Hill added eight points and Lynn Robinson seven for the Firebirds, who fell to 11-6.

Free State will play host to Olathe South on Friday.

I think the first day she could practice was Sunday. I am curious, also.

are you kidding, coach duncan fought to get this kid and had her dad go above the heads of the principles and athletic directors to use a loophole in the policy, he isnt going to leave her on the bench, look for her to see alot more playing time leading into sub-state. lets see how they do against the number 1 team in the state on Friday night.

she was in at the end of the close game when they needed points

How many practices did she have with the team? Wow....she must be good. I guess Dorian Green (or others) could have done the same thing, and probably would have been welcomed with open arms.
However, basketball is team sport. Its not just about points. Maybe even in the best kid in town isn't the best kid for your team at this time. (Or maybe I just identify too much with the kid on the bench who has been practicing with the team all year.)
