• The Conservation Reserve Program will host an informational meeting at 10 a.m. Feb. 24 in the Dreher Building at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds. Reservations should be made by Feb. 19 to the Douglas County FSA office, 843-4260.

• Communities In Schools of Kansas has hired Kansas University alumni Tracie Howell to serve as its director of development, and Polli Kenn to serve as director of program operations.

• Douglas County AIDS Project announces its newest staff members: education and outreach coordinator Olivia Burchett and client care team member Whitney Gudgel. Both joined DCAP in January.

• Terry J. Sutcliffe announces his retirement as senior vice president of First State Bank in Kansas City, Kan., effective Feb. 22. Sutcliffe will remain as a member of the bank’s board of directors and continue to serve as an officer and director of First Bancshares Inc.

• Kansas University Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter has been selected to receive a $5,000 matching grant from State Farm. The KU campus chapter partners with Lawrence Habitat for Humanity and has helped build houses in the Lawrence community since 1996.
