Offices, services to close Monday

Some government offices and public services in Lawrence and Douglas County will be closed Monday in observance of Presidents Day.

• All city and federal offices will be closed.

• Kansas district courts, including in Douglas County, will be closed.

• City offices in Eudora will be closed, as will county offices in Franklin, Jefferson and Leavenworth counties.

• State and Douglas County administrative offices will be open. Ottawa, Tonganoxie, Baldwin City, McLouth and Oskaloosa city offices will also be open.

• Capitol Federal Savings Bank will be open normal hours, all other banks will be closed.

• Lawrence Transit System and T-Lift buses will operate on regular schedules Monday. Parking at meters in downtown Lawrence will be free.

• The holiday will not affect residential solid waste collection in Lawrence. Commercial waste collection routes scheduled for Monday will be collected.

• To report a water-line break on the holiday or weekend, call 843-2685.

• South Park Recreation Center, 1141 Mass., will be closed except for scheduled classes. The Community Building, 115 W. 11th St., East Lawrence Center, 1245 E. 15th St., and Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 W. 27th St., will be open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

• Carl Knox Natatorium on the Lawrence High campus, 1901 La., will be open 6:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and the Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Drive, will be open for lap swimming 5:15 a.m. to 7:45 p.m.

• The zero-depth children’s areas are open from 3:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., and the waterslide and diving area is open from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

• All Lawrence aquatic, recreation and special population classes, and adult sports leagues will go on as scheduled.

• Prairie Park Nature Center, 2730 Harper St., is closed on Mondays.

• The Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vt., will be open.

• The Lawrence Workforce Center, 2540 Iowa, will be open.

• U.S. Postal Service will not make regular mail deliveries, and post offices will be closed.

• UPS and FedEx will make regular deliveries.

• All activities and services at Lawrence Senior Center, including clubs, classes and the noon meal, will operate as scheduled.

• The Journal-World will be open regular hours.

• USA Today will be published.

• Liquor stores will be open.
