Lawrencians named to governor’s board

Three Lawrence women have been named to the Governor’s Domestic Violence Fatality Review Board.

They are Joyce Grover, who works as general counsel for the Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence; Libby Scott, a parole officer with the Kansas Department of Corrections; and Deborah Moody, an assistant district attorney in the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office.

The board reviews all domestic violence fatalities and recommends ways to prevent further fatalities.

“I appreciate the board’s continued efforts in focusing on the issue of domestic violence fatalities and tackling its root causes to prevent future victims,” Gov. Mark Parkinson said.
