Prosecutors charged a 21-year-old Lawrence man with aggravated battery after a Sunday incident in the 2400 block of Alabama Street.

Police arrested Kevin F. Begaye after checking on a 20-year-old Arizona man lying in the roadway with a possible broken nose. The victim was in town visiting the defendant when police allege that he struck the victim after a verbal argument.

The court set bond in the case at $4,000.
