Sally Konzem, Lawrence, was named to the 2009-10 dean’s list at Lawrence University, Appleton, Wis., for maintaining a minimum 3.4 grade average.

Konzem, is a 2007 graduate of Free State High School, and the daughter of Richard Konzem, and Patricia Bender, both of Lawrence.

Eileen Richling, Lawrence, was recently recognized as a member of Sigma Alpha Lambda, national leadership and honors organization at the Binghamton University in Binghamton, N.Y. Sigma Alpha Lambda is dedicated to promoting and rewarding academic achievement and providing members with opportunities for community service, personal development, and lifelong professional fulfillment.

Sydney Keizer, Lawrence, has been accepted at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and will begin fall semester classes on Aug. 30. Keizer, a graduate of Free State High School, is the daughter of Ferry Keizer and Caroline Grootes.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has awarded scholarships to nonresident students for the 2010-11 academic year. The scholarships are based on grade-point averages for transfer students or on academic accomplishments in high school and admissions test scores for 2010 high school graduates.

Morgan Flannigan and Lydia Picking, both graduates of Free State High School, have been awarded Aaron Douglas scholarships.

Flannigan plans to major in pre-pharmacy, and Picking is majoring in textiles, clothing and design.

Andrew Thomas, Lawrence, was awarded a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering in May from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y.
