Demofest takes place today in Wichita

Democratic candidates and party activists will meet today in Wichita as part of the annual Demofest.

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Tom Holland, a state senator from Baldwin City, and 4th U.S. House District candidate Raj Goyle, in addition to hundreds of volunteers statewide, will campaign door-to-door in the morning as part of a “Day of Action.”

Then in the afternoon, Democratic leaders and candidates will give speeches at a luncheon at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 400 N. Waterman.

Later, Democratic candidates for federal offices will speak.

“We’re excited to have our entire slate together as we head into election season,” said Kansas Democratic Party Chairman Larry Gates. “We will leave Demofest energized and ready to talk to Kansans about our common-sense approach to solving the tough problems facing our state,” he said.
