— Republican Kevin Yoder is proposing six debates with his Democratic opponent in Kansas' 3rd Congressional District.

Yoder, a Kansas House member from Overland Park, has issued a challenge to Democratic nominee Stephene Moore. She is the wife of retiring Democratic Congressman Dennis Moore.

Yoder says voters in the Kansas City-area district deserve an honest discussion of the candidates' differences.

A spokesman for Stephene Moore, Trevor Willett, says the Democratic nominee looks forward to as many debates as possible before the Nov. 2 general election.

I hope that Stephene Moore accepts and grills Yoder about his having been a Democrat until he wanted to run for the State House of Representatives and changed parties. After that she can move on to how he changed his beliefs on every major issue to get better ratings from conservative watch dog organizations. Yoder is the worst kind of career politician, he has no evident scruples and is willing be a chameleon to stay in office.

By the way Dennis Moore was once a Republican. He switched to avoid a primary challenge prior to winning his 1st term. So I assume you'd agree that Moore is also "the worst kind of career politician".

I would like to hear something from Mr. Yoder besides the "anti-Obama" rhetoric that is so common from Republicans. If he is going to cut the budget, where will he cut? Is the military a sacred cow? Would he cut it? I'm sure that he is opposed to the Health Care legislation that was passed. But what are his ideas for a better plan? etc, etc.

My hat's off to Yoder for staying sane during the legislature's frenzy to raise taxes.
