Suck it up
To the editor:
It doesn’t sound like Douglas County is trying very hard to keep taxes under control. Most of us in Douglas County have not had a raise in several years. I don’t know why we need to add or expand nonessential programs. Let me spend my money as I see fit, not how the county thinks I should spend it. The taxpayers are having to suck it up and pay our bills without getting a wage increase. It’s time the county sucks it up and makes ends meet without increasing property taxes.
Let’s not forget that we voted in a sales tax increase in the last election. The county now wants to raise property taxes by 9 percent? Let’s put a stop to out-of-control spending.
