To the editor:

We hear the horrible stories of things that happened because of the Internet. I just want to share something I found so very positive that is going on via the Internet.

There is a group of women across the country (including myself and others right here in Lawrence), who are monthly sending packages of cookies and other homemade goodies to perfect strangers who are soldiers stationed in the Middle East keeping us safe. They are called Baking Gals, and they are housewives, mothers, daughters, etc., doing something unselfish for those who are giving us so much. I personally have gotten so many e-mails from thankful soldiers who didn’t know there were people in this land who cared so much.

Just thought a positive idea such as this ought to get a little recognition!
