School board approves boundary change

Lawrence school board members Monday approved a boundary change for next school year to send students from Kennedy School to New York School.

It was the final approval for the change that comes after the board voted in March to move the district’s early childhood programs from the East Heights Early Childhood Family Center into Kennedy next year.

To make room, the district will move 63 current Kennedy students to New York. In one minor amendment, the board decided not to split up Maple Lane, meaning all students who live on that street will still go to Kennedy next year.
