Three Lawrence men were charged in connection with a fight on Ohio street early Sunday morning that included a Lawrence police officer getting hit by a car.

Aaron Hughes, 21, was charged Monday afternoon with aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer and one misdemeanor count of having an open container.

Michael Landsness, 23, faces battery on an officer, obstruction and disorderly conduct charges.

A third man, Devin Foster, 22, is charged with aggravated assault and defacing a firearm.

Police were called to the 1300 block of Ohio Street around 2 a.m. Sunday.

When the men tried to leave in a white SUV, a police officer was struck by the vehicle.

The officer was not injured, according to a police spokeswoman. Another officer was punched during the investigation.

All three men are scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
