Businesses host fundraisers, events
Two charity benefit events are scheduled this week, while a local restaurant has planned a celebration on Saturday for its grand reopening.
• The Kmart Distribution Center and Sears retail store are hosting a fundraiser for the March of Dimes campaign from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Montana Mike’s, 1015 Iowa. All profits go to the March for Babies. Tickets are $15. This year’s goal is $10,000.
• “Focus on You,” a mini-glam session fundraiser, benefiting The Willow Domestic Violence Center will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the SpringHill Suites-Marriott, 1 Riverfront Plaza.
• Culver’s of Lawrence, 2111 W. 33rd St., will host a grand reopening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony starting at 10 a.m. Saturday. The new owners, George and Donna Nichols, will host the celebration.
