The health care debate has been fraught with lies and misinformation. The latest is that Medicare provider reimbursement is being cut by 21 percent. Therefore, doctors may no longer take Medicare patients. The truth is the reform rescinds that cut and restores the reimbursement rate. Don’t be fooled by the misinformation campaign. Go to www.healthreform.gov or www.medicare.gov and get the truth.

If you believe the Republicans are looking out for the common people, consider this: One stated goal of the Republicans is to abolish the estate tax. Since estates up to $10 million are already passed along tax-free, this benefits only the top one-half of 1 percent of the population. However, they opposed extending unemployment benefits for people struggling to survive the recession.
