Friends of the Kaw receives $60,000

One grant came from New Belgium Brewing Co. while another was given by the Wildlife Foundation.

Friends of the Kaw has received seven grants in the past few months totaling nearly $60,000.

The organization, whose mission is to protect the Kansas River, will use the grants for various projects on the river. Those projects include educational programs, watershed protection and hosting of the Wild and Scenic Film Festival in the fall.
