Habitat to dedicate new home Saturday
Lawrence Habitat for Humanity will dedicate a new home on Saturday.
The home, 215 Comfort Lane in North Lawrence, is the second home dedicated in Lawrence this year and the 72nd since the organization began in Lawrence in 1989. The home will be dedicated to Trisha Powell and her two sons.
Habitat for Humanity helps families in need obtain housing. Families are required to contribute labor to the construction of their home and other Habitat activities.
Supported by volunteer labor and community donations, families purchase their homes for the cost of materials on a no-interest mortgage.
