KU’s Henrickson adds two aides

Tory Verdi and Chester Nichols are the newest members of the Kansas University women’s basketball coaching staff.

KU coach Bonnie Henrickson announced the two new aides will replace Karen Lange, who left to become head coach at MidAmerica Nazarene, and Tamika Raymond, who resigned to be closer to her husband who lives in Dallas.

Verdi spent the last five seasons as an assistant at Nebraska. He has also been at Columbia U. and with the Connecticut Sun of the WNBA.

Nichols comes to KU from Central Florida. Prior to that, he was an aide for six seasons at West Virginia.

Verdi and Nichols will be the first men to work full-time on Henrickson’s staff since she was hired six years ago.
