KU’s Rock Chalk Revue raises $47K

Kansas University’s annual Rock Chalk Revue variety show raised $47,000 for the United Way of Douglas County, said Stephen Fessler, the show’s executive producer.

Fessler said he was satisfied with the donation, and that the greek community could continue its tradition of giving back to the community.

“We’re happy to be able to help out Douglas County in any way we can,” he said.

He said the results were down from last year’s $60,000 donation because of a number of factors, primarily because the fraternities and sororities selected to participate this year were smaller organizations.

That meant a decline in the number of tickets dedicated to group sales, though tickets sold to the public remained steady, he said.
