Free State High senior bowler Robert Wagner was recently named both first-team all-state and first-team All-Sunflower League.
Wagner and the Free State High boys placed third at the Class 6A state tournament this season in Wichita.
As a freshman in 2007, Wagner placed third individually at state, while the Firebirds placed second as a team.
“He had a phenomenal season,” Free State coach Anita Carlson said. “He was solid the whole way through. This year, he set his goals and made it happen. I’m extremely proud of his desire and determination.”
Senior Connor Kring also made the All-Sunflower squad as a second-teamer.
On the girls side, the Firebirds had senior Christina Picicci on the all-league second team. Picicci placed 26th as an individual at state this season.
