A slap on the wrist
To the editor:
Let me get this straight. If you are drunk and you run over someone and kill them, you may have to spend up to 60 days in the county jail. Whoa! My body was starting to go into convulsions. Sweat was streaming down my face. My hands are shaking so much I can barely type this.
The Douglas County district attorney is really throwing his weight around, and all of us better take notice!
I didn’t realize that the worth of a life in Lawrence could be valued as much as someone’s inconvenience. I think that the city of Lawrence should be up in arms with this slap on the wrist that the D.A. is enforcing. The people should be outraged and demand his head.
