Grilled brats and cold sodas will be among the offerings available for on-site viewers of tonight’s 6News.
Sunflower Broadband will conduct its news program live at 6 p.m. from South Park, just south of the Douglas County Courthouse and Judicial and Law Enforcement Center at the southern edge of downtown Lawrence.
The rain-or-shine event will be the latest edition of Main Street Live. Observers can meet news, sports and weather personalities from Channel 6 and see how a live newscast looks behind the scenes.
Visitors are invited to arrive at 5:30 p.m., with the first 150 people to receive Johnsonville bratwursts and Pepsi beverages. Pinnacle Career Institute will provide chair massages, Best Buy will have a couple of Wii-equipped TVs plugged in, and children can use a slide and obstacle course set up by Ultimate Bounce.
Body Boutique and the office of Dr. Kevin Lenahan will provide giveaways, while several nonprofit agencies also will share information.
6News will telecast live from Laws Field in Eudora on Sept. 30.
