LMH health fair set for Sept. 26

Lawrence Memorial Hospital will offer free health screenings and health information during its annual health fair Saturday, Sept. 26.

The event will be from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the hospital, 325 Maine.

The screenings may include vision, hearing, oral cancer, prostate cancer, bone density, blood pressure, peripheral artery disease, skin cancer, vein screening and body mass index. Screening options are dependent on the availability of the volunteer screeners.

In addition, a comprehensive blood work profile is available for $30 if registered by Friday and $40 the day of the event. For an additional $10, men can have a prostate specific antigen test done.

If participants get blood work done, they are asked to not eat or drink anything, except water and medications, for 10 to 12 hours prior to having their blood drawn. Registration forms can be found at the main information desk.

For more information or to register for blood work, call the LMH lab at 505-6179 and ask for a health fair specialist or log onto lmh.org.
