Apology owed
To the editor:
I will never vote for Rep. Lynn Jenkins. President Obama is my great white hope, and I was disturbed by Jenkins’ poor choice of words in Hiawatha last month.
However, I was just as disturbed by the winning entries of the “Caption Contest” for a photo of Jenkins that ran in the Journal-World last week (Sept. 10). The “winners” were embarrassingly juvenile attacks on Jenkins’ appearance, and they had no place in what is supposed to be a serious newspaper.
The Journal-World owes Jenkins an apology.
