Lighted courts

September 10, 2009

To the editor:

Another controversy has arisen regarding lights for the new tennis courts. Why in Lawrence, a town of so many activities, is it so difficult to install lights for the new tennis courts? I recently attended a conference in Farmington, N.M., a town much smaller than Lawrence without a world-class university like Kansas University, where their visitors guide listed 25 lighted tennis courts. You would think we lived in some small burg that rolls up the sidewalks every evening.

ah, the extortion of the small neighbors' group with their harrassing lawsuit of usd497, once again.

the now-called 'Driedoregano' protested the move of the tennis courts to *make more parking, while claiming there wasn't enough parking there!

watch out, last april when the tennis lights issue last came up, Driedorigami, former Bronze/cool/ocean/rusty2/ariadne/spiderman/jaguar [he's been thrown off at least nine times from LJW] went crazy, including trying to out me!

that was pretty funny.

watch for Driedorigami's obsessive posting to begin on here, once he wakes up, about noon. don't believe a word he says.

yes, we oughta have lights at the new tennis courts! the small group of litigious neighbors extorting their will against USD497 should just get used to the lights, LHS/CVS is their neighbor.

Was $16-$20 million USD 497 tax dollars NOT ENOUGH to cover lights for the tennis courts?

The USD 497 taxpayers should have been able to vote on this high dollar critter. Been able to pick and choose.

What is the final cost of this project? Who will provide USD 497 taxpayers the true cost? How much is the city tax dollar tab on this high dollar venture?

Yes Brad should have lights to play by. Brad is a taxpaying investor. Lights that light up only the tennis court not the entire neighborhood.

How many tennis players are there in Lawrence? Why are they not giving their opinions about this or writing a letter to the editor? We can't hear from both sides if both sides fail to speak up.

For months, driedoregano either stupidly misinterpreted the zoning code, or he openly lied to us about it. Neither option was good.

In either case, it should be grounds for him to forfeit his license to practice architecture.

It was clear that the lawsuit never had a chance. It was just legal harassment. His neighbors figured that out and refused to spend good money after bad.

And as a non-home owner, his role in manipulating the CNA should have not been allowed.

Didn't Marion promise they would quickly find an attorney to reopen this whole matter?

What happened?

More hot air and lies from the Oregano/Maryann peanut gallery?

zomg, this is hilarious. I shouldn't be laughing at the crazy OCD guy and his obsessive postings on Tennis courts in High Schools sports, but I can't help myself.

Flap Doodle 8 years, 7 months ago

Relax and have a popsicle, dried. It's a cool and fruity treat on a summer day.

svenway_park 8 years, 7 months ago

The OCD may explain the lack of a degree.

svenway_park 8 years, 7 months ago

I bet they could have made some of those repairs if they didn't have to hire those lawyers for that frivolous lawsuit driedoregano helped to stir up.

Driedoregano has such a caring community spirit, you see.

svenway_park 8 years, 7 months ago

driedoregano says suing the citizens of Lawrence on frivolous litigation is community spirit.

Enough said.

svenway_park 8 years, 7 months ago

driedoregano: and you know you are not the record owner of the residence in which you live, and you know why, so stop trying to mislead the forum readers.

svenway_park 8 years, 7 months ago

dried: Knowing more than you hardly makes one an expert. The threshold is low. But I understand the terms "legal" owner, "record title" owner, and "owner" and you are none of these.

So tell the audience why are are not one of these, dried....

Or do you want to spin the roulette wheel once again.

svenway_park 8 years, 7 months ago

Dried: I think that is the same Mr. Schneider that excluded one particular non plaintiff from certain settlement discussions, as he was legally obligated to do, in order to protect attorney-client privilege.

Do you really want to know what some on the "petition of 76" say about your stinky petition and frivolous lawsuit?

think_about_it 8 years, 7 months ago

svenway- you mean this is the same guy with all of the other screen names that pretends that he is the architect? Didn't he get run out of Aspen or someplace like that and now lives with his mommy?

bearded_gnome 8 years, 7 months ago

Driedornithopter, I have no crow, or in your case Raven, to eat!

I answered that on the chat thread. reading Doll's bureaucratese: "recently" is the key word. means: yes that small group did delay things, a lot, but much of that was before Doll came in. and, he doesn't want to get muddy wrestling with that pig.

now, you are obviously trying to conflate 'petition' with 'lawsuit.'

most readers are smart enough to see through that. it was a very small group who pressed the lawsuit. and again you proclaimed your anger and dissatisfaction with the agreement that was signed, and if you signed it because of POA, you signed in bad faith. you said you'd agitate the university place neighborhood into another frivolous lawsuit.

further, again you bring up the fake issue of runoff. last year, you yourself approved of the plans for the drainage. further, you started screaming 'flooding' when there was a flash flood and trouble was all over town!

after all, you've got to ask the question why would anyone demolish the former tennis center and then build a new one with no restroom building nearby, and push it into a corner with no real spectator seating area up against homes only 14 feet away?

---again, for readers, Driedornithologist protested the move of the tennis center which was to increase parking, even as he complained there wasn't enough parking for the site! self-canceling fool? hmmm. here, he's reposting the same vapid fake crap from Merrill three times, along with reposting his own crap.

indeed, why is Driedorigami still on here? he's been thrown off nine times. he doesn't really care about the bathrooms (each should have DO's portrait hung in them), the astroturf, the drainage, lights, etc. he actually doesn't care.

svenway_park 8 years, 7 months ago

think_about_it: you got it correct. except his momma don't live here, she just owns his house.

Ask him why.

svenway_park 8 years, 7 months ago

Yes. Frivolous. You obviously still don't understand the legal process. Frivolous.

Go back and give your lawyer some more money (oops) and have him explain it to you. Or reopen the frivolous lawsuit and waste some more community money.

bearded_gnome 8 years, 7 months ago

gee, it was obsessive posting time by Driedoregonian, where is he now?

or did the mind altering substance run out...Driedorigami is now passed out on the floor in front of his computer..."Aspen, oh Aspen?" ...

put in the lights.

oh Irish, you certainly are a blond: the letter to the editor above seems likely to have been written by a tennis player!

Why is it so silly that Driedoreo cites Merrill?

Merrill has wasted vast amounts of our money on roundabouts, speed pillows, etc. he supports refurbishing the old train depot, and that at a time when we might not have enough money to repaint the lines obscured by smearing silly puddy on them.
Merrill believes we should have enforced power outages to force energy conservation.
he believes broken streets are good as passive traffic calming devices.

and there are many many more. Oh, don't forget Merrill strongly advocates nude hiking, too!

and Driedobscurantus cites Merrill. speaks volumes.

bearded_gnome 8 years, 7 months ago

"beeredupgenome" now that's pretty funny Driedobscurantus.

driedoregano (Anonymous) says…

cheeseburger, screen name 'says it all'.

---well, speaking of screennames, apparently Cheeseburger has had one. that's the digit 1.

Bearded_gnome has had exactly 1.

Driedornithopter ...he's on number nine, at least. now why do you suppose that is?

it is because the former Bronze/rusty2/ariadne/cool/ocean/jaguar/spiderman/et al got himself thrown off, or TOSsed off for violations of the Terms of service on here!

now, what does that say about Driedolbermann? he certainly can't be trusted: he can't even maintain proper behavior on this forum, and he's failed hundreds of times!

means he is disreputable and false.

indicates that to him the ends justify the means. immoral.

so, Driedosculator, you were saying something about screen names? ... hmmm?

svenway_park 8 years, 7 months ago

Better get that crow pie in the oven, driedoregano.

375 for 40 minutes. Remember to baste.

Flap Doodle 8 years, 7 months ago

Hey, dried, why don't you try outing gnome again? Because that worked so well for you last time.....

svenway_park 8 years, 7 months ago

I think dried needs to practice his Zen a bit more....

bearded_gnome 8 years, 7 months ago

practice his zenn?

I think more likely Pez.

beered up genome, FYI your attachment to screen names is kind of weird. i am on several other publications as Freestyle, Socialist, Mr. Wrap, and Skot. so what, some of us have many screen names.

---Driedoblivion, the real problem for you is the truth: you have gone through so many screen names on here not by your own choice. you are shown by that to be demonstrably the worst poster on ljworld, at least until you get TOSsed off for the tenth time!

and Snap is right, you haven't tried to out me since oh a couple months ago, then there was last april.

and I really don't care what your other lame screen names are on other sites, we weren't discussing other sites. however, have you been TOSsed off of some of them too?

so, will your next screen name on here be Oedipus?
