Local agencies plan preparedness fair
Douglas County residents are urged to prepare themselves and their families in the event of a natural disaster, public health emergency or act of terrorism as part of National Preparedness Month.
Douglas County Emergency Management, the Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department, Roger Hill Volunteer Center and Together Prepared are sponsoring the Douglas County Preparedness Fair from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds, 2120 Harper St.
The event is free and open to the public.
The fair will include booths from the American Red Cross, Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical, the Lawrence Humane Society, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Douglas County Medical Reserve Corps and Eudora Police Department.
