The Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department is having an informational meeting on child care licensing.

The meeting will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday Sept. 8 in the first-floor meeting room at the Community Health Facility, 200 Maine.

The meeting will provide information regarding registration and licensing of family day care homes. Kansas law requires that homes be registered or licensed when child care is provided away from the child’s own home for one or two children more than a total of 20 hours a week or for three or more children.
