Rachel Smith, Lawrence, joined Ogden Publications, a national consumer magazine publisher, as a public relations specialist Sept. 30.

Smith helps create strategies to promote Ogden’s 10 publications and related services, works with media nationwide, writes news releases, schedules interviews and coordinates production of the company’s employee newsletter.

She previously worked in fundraising at Baker University and earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Kansas University in May 2008.
