The Stull United Methodist Church west of Lawrence will open its new food pantry from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the church, 1596 E. 250 Road.
Anyone in need can come pick up items every first and third Thursday of each month. This week is the grand opening.
“If you feel you have the need, we can help you,” said Brenna Wulfkuhle, of the church’s council on ministries committee.
She said the church has started the food pantry for the rural community, but anyone in need can come for help. Church members will be in the basement of the church to help distribute donations.
The church has started the food pantry with donations and a recent memorial gift, Wulfkuhle said.
More information is available at the church’s Web site, by calling 785-887-6521, or by sending an e-mail to info@stullumc.org.

Another example of a church doing a good deed for the community. Yet mostly they just get trashed on these boards. Ironic isn't it.

Guess that churches should do somethings that make them pat themselves on the back, especially since they don't pay property taxes....

Cool! They should market it as the only food pantry in America that also includes a gateway to the underworld!
