Affordable care

To the editor:

My husband, Forrest, and I have lived in Lawrence since 1969. All three of our children attended and graduated from the Lawrence public schools and the university. I retired in 1994 from my position as a school social worker, and Forrest retired in 1997 from his position as professor in the School of Social Welfare at Kansas University.

We are on Medicare and we believe President Obama’s plan will make insurance work better by holding the insurance industry accountable. We also know that our personal physician along with many other local health professionals support Obama’s plan, including the public option. We believe the president’s plan will offer quality and affordable choices to the millions of Americans without insurance. We support choice, an affordable choice for every American, just as we have with our Medicare insurance.
