Extension Office offers marketing workshop

Agriculture producers are invited to a workshop, “The Basics of Marketing,” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 10 at the Douglas County Extension Office, 2110 Harper St. Preregistration is required by Dec. 7.

Kevin Dhuyvetter, extension farm management specialist in the Kansas State University department of agriculture economics, will be the instructor for the workshop. Dhuyvetter will key in on four main topics: basis, forward contracting, hedging and options.

The workshop is sponsored by K-State Research and Extension-Douglas County. To pre-register, call 843-7058. There must be a minimum of 10 pre-registered participants to conduct the workshop. The registration fee is $15 per person to cover the costs of supplies, lunch and snacks, and is payable at the door.
