The new Tonganoxie/Eudora turnpike interchange is expected to open within the next 60 days.

Kansas Turnpike Authority officials initially had hoped the interchange would open by Thanksgiving, but programming work for the automated toll plazas have pushed that opening date back to late January.

Lisa Callahan, KTA public relations director, said this week that although construction of the interchange and renovations to County Road 1 are complete, work continues on interfacing the automated system with the existing toll collection equipment. The Tonganoxie/Eudora interchange will be the first automated interchange for KTA.

OK, fair enough beobachter, I'll happily blame the Turnpike Authority instead. Are they not intelligent enough to hire someone to stand there at least through the holidays? It's still a load of crap that it's not complete. KDOT probably would have had it done on time. ;)

It's very obvious far too many people are clueless as to fact the Turnpike Authority has no ties to KDOT.

Man, that's crap....

As much money gets pumped into KDOT because of that toll road. This should have been done on time! Its been sitting there, ready to go since August. I'm going to use it anyway. NO TOLL FOR YOU!
