Be proud

To the editor:

The Lincoln Journal Star printed a comment by a young Jayhawk fan upon leaving the Nov. 14 Nebraska football game. He said, “At least we can beat Nebraska in basketball.” He is right, but I take exception to his spirit.

Kansas played a hard game. They never quit and even took the lead at one point. The KU offensive line held one of the best defensive lines to a standoff. My first concern is for the Cornhuskers. Second, I follow the Big 12. I am proud to have a team like Kansas be a Big 12 member. They never quit. I ask you, young fan, to take heart. You have a good coach and a good team. Continue to support them as best you can. Their fortunes will turn. Take pride in them.

Well, we MAY have a good coach - he's sure looking like he's at the top of Lew's "gonna get rid of" list.

I wish mizzou fans would take lessons form NU fans. They are the greatest.

In return, Nebraska fans have always been classy when they come here. That has been my experience in the past 18 yrs. or so. The worst are the rednecks from Oklahoma and Missouri. Loud obnoxious drunks. Colorado fans are fine too.

NU Fans are the best in the world, just ask them.

@rrussell: That wasn't my experience sitting in section 23 on 11/14. I was surrounded by red and have never smelled so much alcohol and rude "F-bomb" laced shouting in my life. I had thought I was in the student section.

My 6-y/o daughter and I left before the half due to the extreme language and drunkenness.
