How To Help: Yoga instructor for youths sought

The Villages is looking for a volunteer to teach yoga to youths.

A weekday, or possibly Sunday, session lasting 30 minutes to an hour is desired. Contact Sheila at stinsley@thevillagesinc.org if you can help out.

Immediate needs

• The Lawrence Interdenominational Nutrition Kitchen will be serving a Thanksgiving meal at First Christian Church, 10th and Kentucky streets, on Thursday. Volunteers are needed to help prepare, deliver and serve meals.

Call Louise Leon at 843-0579 between noon and 7 p.m. for more information.

• Pioneer Ridge is holding its Christmas Party for residents from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12. A few volunteers are needed to set up the event, hand out gifts to residents and clean up after the party is over. To volunteer, contact Pilar at pdasto@pioneer-ridge.com.

• Hidden Valley Camp will have its annual fall workday on Sunday. Volunteers are needed from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. to help with native woods restoration, including removal of invasive honeysuckle shrubs using chainsaws, loppers and poppers. Other tasks will include cutting firewood, stocking woodpiles, hauling and burning brush, planting, mulching and more. Most hand tools will be provided.
