B.A. Green Construction Co. Inc., Lawrence, received a LEED Silver certification for the Westar Lawrence Operations Center, completed early this year.

The project is the first in Lawrence to receive LEED certification and only the third in Kansas to receive a Silver designation.

The U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED building program is a third-party certification program and the nationally accepted benchmark for design and construction of high-performance green buildings.

The project team for the Westar project also included Architect One P.A., Bartlett & West Inc. and Latimer Sommers & Associates.
