Commissioners agreed to start the bid process for a pair of federal stimulus projects.
Commissioners set Dec. 15 as the date to open bids for a project to strip the asphalt from portions of New York Street and rebuild the road as a traditional brick street. The work will take place from Ninth to 12th streets.
The commission also set Dec. 15 as the bid date for a project to rebuild several stretches of recreational path along Clinton Parkway.
Both projects are 100 percent funded with federal stimulus dollars, and must be bid by the end of the year in order to qualify for the funding. Construction on both projects is expected to begin in the spring.
