Social Welfare students at Kansas University will host a silent auction on Thursday to benefit the Lawrence Community Shelter.

The KU Bachelor of Social Welfare Group will put on the event at Abe & Jake’s Landing, 8 E. Sixth St., from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. They will auction off items including autographed KU sports memorabilia and gift certificates to local businesses.

The event also will feature food and drink specials, and a live performance by the LCS Jazz Band.

All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the shelter. Entrance to the event is $5 at the door or $3 with a student ID.
