The holidays can be anything but festive for many people.

A recent divorce, unemployment, or death of a loved one can be difficult to deal with on any day, but especially during the holidays.

Heart of America Hospice is hoping to help by offering free sessions on “Coping with Holiday Grief.”

They are:

• Nov. 10 and Dec. 8 at 10:30 a.m. at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community, 4851 Harvard Road.

• Nov. 10 and Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. at the Heart of America Hospice Office, 1420 Wakarusa Drive.

David Jenkins, bereavement coordinator, said the sessions will provide:

• New ways of approaching problems that may arise during the holidays.

• Ways to restore meaning to the holidays.

• Resources to counter the sense of isolation so common during this time of year.
