Immediate needs

• Do you need someone to rake your leaves, move furniture, touch up some paint or do yardwork? Students from the Kansas University Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter will work to support their cause. Two Saturdays this month are set for the Hire a Habitat project, this Saturday and Nov. 21. Donations will help support Habitat’s mission through events, builds and student-led trips.

To request a volunteer for help around the house, call Joey at 314-623-5172, or send e-mail to kuhabitat@gmail .com. Just let us know how many volunteers you’d like, which date will work best, and any ways that we can best assist you.

• ECKAN/Just Food needs volunteers to help out with its food pantry needs. An office assistant is needed to perform administrative assistant duties including answering phones, filing, light data entry, inventory, and food pantry support including taking client information and filling orders. In addition, food pantry organizers are needed to work from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. weekdays, stocking front shelves from storage and also helping to make food bags for families each day.

To volunteer, contact John Olsen at 856-7030 or e-mail jolsen@eckan.org.

• Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community needs help the week of Nov. 15-21. Volunteers are needed to give manicures from 10:15 a.m. until noon Nov. 16, to call bingo games from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 19, and to play parcheesi or UNO from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 20.
