Free State soccer to play BV-West

The Free State High boys soccer team, which advanced to the quarterfinals for just the third time in school history with a 1-0 victory against Manhattan High on Thursday, will play Blue Valley West at 6 p.m. Tuesday at FSHS.

The Firebirds (14-4), who are riding a five-game winning streak into the round of eight, earned the No. 2 seed in the northeast bracket.

Free State and BV West (13-5) did not meet during the regular season.

Tuesday’s winner will advance to the semifinals, which will be played Nov. 6-7 at Blue Valley High.
