The city leader responsible for keeping track of many of the city’s licenses and ordinances is leaving for a job with the Kansas University athletics department.
Frank Reeb, the city clerk and the director of administrative services, is leaving June 19 to become the director of human resources with the athletics department, he said.
As part of his job with the city, Reeb oversees the city’s hiring and recruitment efforts, employee benefits, and also is responsible for many administrative functions such as maintaining City Commission minutes, overseeing several licensing and permit programs and conducting various bid openings.
City Manager David Corliss said the city would begin advertising to fill the position later this summer.
Reeb, who has been with the city for about eight years, is expected to begin his new duties at KU on July 1.

Question: Is the position at the Athletic Department a new position, or will Reeb be replacing someone who is leaving?

Doesn't the city and KU Athletics, Inc. have the same boss? Isn't the hierarchy the same?

Sorry to read that Frank is leaving so soon. He is a wonderful person and will do just fine at KU. I wonder why he is leaving the city job for the KU job? Seems like a trend here lately of city workers going to KU.

Hate to tell you guys but Mr. Reeb ain't what he pretends to be! He has no backbone, is a backstabber, will lie if needed. He not only cost me my job with the city but shared information from my file with a few future employers and job offers were retracted. Sorry KU, hope he changes if he can. Maybe the uppers at city hall dictated to him how he was to react to situations and that is really not his true personality. Hmmm….maybe that's why he left, didn't like all the shady things that go on at 6 E. 6th.
